Entering any establishment, I've always felt most comfortable when the proprietor himself/herself has been present on the premises as a way of personalizing the business. While I'm probably actually present in the studio as you read this, the best I can do under these cybercircumstances is to extend a virtual handshake and welcome in the form of a brief couple of paragraphs which will tell you a little about who I am and what I do. I was born in Rhode Island, raised in Worcester County, Massachusetts, and have resided in New Hampshire (currently in Durham) for three decades. I was educated at Providence College, Northeastern University, and hold a doctorate from The Catholic University of America in Washington, D.C. All of my degrees are in literary study. As a jazz musician, photographer and long-time professor of literature, my life has always centered on the arts, so it should not have surprised anyone who knows me when I announced, in 2001, my intention to build a first-class recording studio and to take on recording projects that would help others celebrate their love of music - whatever music type that happened to be. Since my studio opened, I've tried to shepherd every level of professional and pre-professional musician toward a single goal: the fulfillment of whatever project dream each brings to the studio. I have also managed the production of several non-musical projects as well - most notably the series of audio lectures (soon to be available in DVD) by the nationally prominent psychologist, Dr. Anita Remig. Her disc sets on topics ranging from The Brain to Psychopharmacology to Childhood and Adolescent Learning Disorders have become essential learning tools for educators and medical professionals on how to treat a variety of emotional disfunctions. You will see a number of changes to my website over the months that follow as, one by one, my several audio and video projects emerge and appear as my Store of arts and education materials expands. Ethos East Music is my music project label and you can expect to be able to purchase - at a reasonable price - CDs from some of the best jazz, classical and pop musicians from the Northeast corridor. Also available via the Store page are photographic images from my many years of international travel. These street photographs (to use the phrase which characterizes the school of photography I've always admired) are analogue images (negatives and transparencies) which I've digitally mastered and printed - with archival inks - on fine-quality art (100% cotton rag) paper. Some of you might have visited the gallery I had a few years back in Osterville, on Cape Cod, or you might have seen my collection advertised in The New Yorker. Thank you for visiting my site. -ed
